Bath Time

Cal's first bath at home took place on the kitchen table.  We oh-so-ambitiously started a kitchen renovation when I was about 20 weeks pregnant.  Add to that Billy getting a new job, going back to school and me switching schools and we had a much longer time line than anticipated.  We did all the work ourselves, with a little help from friends and family.  Because of a few delays, the counters and sink were not installed until Cal was a week old.  I was so happy to have them that I celebrated by giving Cal a bath.  He's not so sure about the whole bath thing yet.  I think he likes the water, but not the getting out part.

Welcome Home

We're home!  They sprung us from the hospital around 5:00 on Wednesday and we ran out of there so fast we forgot to take any pictures.  We've been adjusting to life as a family of three and found that our favorite family activity is napping.

Glow Worm

This is how my sweet little boy spent last night...working on his tan.  Just like Mommy and Daddy were when they were born, our little Callahan is jaundiced.  I was discharged yesterday, but we spent another night so Cal could hang under the bili lights.  They ran his blood again this morning, and hopefully we get to go home soon.

Cuddle Bugs

Billy wore scrubs for Cal's birth, not because he had to, but because he was supposed to work the night I went into labor.  We went to the hospital thinking I would be sent home and he would stay for his shift.  When he went home, he came back in a hoodie and a tank top because he wanted to cuddle.  He opens his sweatshirt, puts Cal inside and zips it back up.  It is too damn cute, watching my boys bond.

First Family Picture

As much as I love pictures and scrapbooking, I am horrible at remembering to tak pictures.  We do not have nearly as many of Cal's first day as I would like.  I am, though, very pleased with our first family photo.  Billy took it MySpace-style, holding the camera out in front of us.  I don't want to brag, but I think I look pretty damn good for someone who just gave birth!

It's a Boy!

Callahan William arrived at 5:25am weighing 8 pounds even.  He is 20.5 inches long and has his mommy's ears.  We are so in love!

The Kid is getting bigger, but Mommy is getting smaller!

12 weeks and 3 days.  Heart rate: 168.

First trimester weight gain = -6 pounds!  No morning sickness, but I find that I am eating less over all and am staying away from the junk.
