Happy Halloween!

Due to some clumsiness on Mommy's part (a little tumble down the back stairs and two sprained ankles), Cal missed his first Halloween party on Saturday. Mommy was super bummed.  Grandma and Grandpa K took Cal to the neighborhood Halloween party on Sunday instead while Mommy stayed home and rested.

We also carved our first pumpkin.

Maybe I should stop taking pictures...

Two teeth...just like Cal!

Happy Halloween!

Hopefully we will be able to trick or treat tomorrow.  I have been practicing on my crutches all day!

11 Months!

Man has the past year flown by!  I can't believe my sweet little boy has gotten so big!

Weight: Even though the pumpkin scale said 27 pounds, the official doctor's weight is 24 pounds.

Words: Dada, Mama, Kitty, and his favorite: Dog.  He not only recognizes his own dogs, but others too, including Aunt Britt's dog Bailey.

Skills: saying "vroom" when he plays with his toy cars or when he sees a car, cruising, waving, climbing on his ride-on toys by himself, climbing stairs

Favorites: Daddy, his dogs, anything with wheels (cars, the vacuum, suitcases), being sung to (especially the ABCs)

No 11 month pictures yet.  He had a virus last week which spilled over into an eye infection so he is not feeling very photogenic.

Pumpkin Patch

After an intense discussion (near vs. far, pile o' pumpkins vs. actual field, good cider vs. hayride), Billy saw the light and we headed out to Spicer's early Sunday morning.  Due to the awesome cough he had passed on to me, I skipped yoga (hard to plank when you have coughing fits) and we got there ahead of the crowds.

We enjoyed a hayride out to the pumpkin field (like all vehicles, Cal loved the tractor).  We had the field all to ourselves and were able to get some cute pictures and pick out the perfect pumpkin.  I am still learning about my awesome new camera, so I ruined a few pics messing around with the settings, but I got a lot that I am happy with.
This kid is obsessed with wheels.

Serious pumpkin investigation.

Posing with Daddy.

So happy!

He was so good (and photogenic)

Happy boy and his happy mommy!

Because we are going about 3 months between doctor visits now, we don't get monthly weigh-ins.  When we saw the pumpkin scale we jumped at the chance.  If Cal were a pumpkin he would have cost us $10.53 - that is 27 pounds!  Such a big boy!

Fan Boy

What's the use of kids if you can't impose your tastes on them? By our choice, Cal is a fan of the Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, and Wolverines...and a cute one at that!

Cider Mill

Nothing says Fall more than ice cold apple cider and warm cinnamon donuts.  We are extremely lucky to be surrounded by fantastic cider mills, including Long's, a lovely little red barn located near my parent's house and Billy's work.  In fact, he called from work on Sunday having just finished polishing off some Long's cider and donuts that someone brought in and he wanted more.  I was happy to oblige, so Cal and I headed off to the mill with my parents in tow.

I was a little bummed that they had no pumpkins out yet, but we did get some good photos in the giant chair.

We will be back again soon.  Cider doesn't last long around here.
